January
'05- "Roots and Branches" debuts
on television!
-
WRAZ-TV/FOX 50, a Raleigh, North Carolina FOX television affiliate,
boycotted its own network airing of the reality adoption show "Who's
Your Daddy" after being inundated with e-mail and negative
reaction to promotions of "Daddy" that distastefully
portrayed the reunion of an adoptee with her biological father
for prize money. Instead, "Roots and Branches"- the independent
adoption film that won the heart of WRAZ-TV's station manager Tommy
Schenck, enjoyed its television broadcast debut in place of "Daddy" on
the North Carolina FOX station on January 3,2005. News of this
controversy was reported all over the world. (FOX
controversy) Unlike
the sensational stories often reported on by the media, "Roots
and Branches" is an honest and honorable look at the ordinary
and extraordinary faces and voices of adoption, and will likely
touch your heart too!
